It is important for all of us to keep in mind the Club's EMCOMM (Emergency Communications) simplex frequency. This frequency is 146.420 MHz. Remember that it is critical that no squelch be used when attempting to communicate via simplex. Squelch should be off or set to zero.
It’s said that an amateur radio operator will make an antenna out of anything. Jerry Rice - KB9V proved this point on July 24th at a POTA activation with a makeshift antenna made from a refrigerator repair kit! And yes, it was quite successful as shown in the HAMRS map. We don't however know how his refrigerator is working.

Thanks to Richard - WB4BYQ, the EchoLink® system has been activated on the Beauregard Repeater. See the access details and other information on the Repeaters and Nets page under the section for the 147.060 repeater.
